Our online galleries showcase respected, but often overlooked artists, true masters who studied with iconic teachers and exhibited at renowned galleries in Britain and abroad. Artonline, run by Laurie Stewart, an art dealer for many years, specializes in the discovery of Lesser known masters of the twentieth century. If you look through our galleries you will see some wonderful gems, from the expressionist work of Henry Sanders to the surrealist work of Eileen Agar and Grace Pailthorpe. This is a vibrant, exciting and intriguing collection of artists all having something different to offer. There is also more abstract work from artists such as Herman Shapiro, who developed interesting techniques in the mediums he used. There are also some great Northern Artists here such as Roger Hampson and Arthur Berry who have both chronicled a time now gone of local characters and a changing northern environment.
