HENRY COLLINS was born in 1910 in Colchester. He studied at Colchester Art School and the Central School, London. Until 1939 he worked in advertising agencies and studios and then spent two years as a part-time teacher. During the war he served with the Royal Artillery and the Royal Engineers. After the war, he became a freelance designer and in 1951, his designs and 3D work were used by the Central Office of Information for the Festival of Britain. His design work was done in partnership with his wife Joyce Pallot. He taught part-time for 25 years at St Martin's, London in the Graphic Design Department and also at Lanchester Poly, Coventry, Colchester Art College and Greyfriars Institute. Also work for IBM London on painted panels on Marylebone Architecture and a large wood collage for BHS Restaurant Harlow .
