Sydney Ferris Painting

SYDNEY FERRIS trained at the Brixton School of Building, allied to the Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts, where he eventually went to study in 1920. By 1923 he had already exhibited in various London galleries. He decided to learn etching and engraving at Goldsmiths College under Stanley Anderson, RA, RE. Unable to work as an artist during the depression of the late 1920’s, he used is knowledge of structural engineering to earn a wage. He has been exhibited at the RA, RSBA, NEAC and the Royal Watercolour Society.
