GEORGE JARDINE was born and lived in Wallasey, Cheshire. Attended Wallasey School of Art, 1936 and Royal Collage of Art, 1939-43. He was tought by Paul Nash, Stanley Spencer, Percey Horton and Edward Bawden. He lectured in graphics at the Liverpool College of Art. His early work was influenced by Surrealism, especially Max Earnst. He showed with Sandon Studios Society and Liverpool Academy, being a memberof both, RA, RCamA and elsewhere. Had solo exhibitions at the Portal Gallery and Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead, which gave him a retrospective in 2000, Bluecoat Gallery Liverpool. There are examples of his work at The Williamson, Arts Council, Walker Art Gallery and Liverpool University.
