JOHN MCCUTCHEON (ROI), born 1910 in Dalmellington, Ayshireand settled in Ayr. studied at the Glasgow School of Art from 1929-1933. He became a memeber of the ROI in 1970. Exhibitions include Paris Salon(where he gained a hon. mention), ROI, RSA, RGI. There are permenant collections of his work at at Kelvingrove Art Gallery. A stroke in 1991 cost him power in the right side of his body. With determination he taught himself with his left hand and achieved a further exhibition, some pictures being in a different style. Unfortunately further strokes ended his career.
