FLETCHER MERCER was born in 1861 in Lincolnshire. He was educated at Oxford, receiving a degree in Modern History. He later studied art in Paris at the Whistler School. His delightful paintings in watercolour and pastel exhibit all the aestetism and taste associated with the master. He was a welcome exhibitor at the Nerw English Art Club where he showed 48 times.
