JOYCE PALLOT was born in Brightlingsea, Essex, married to the artist Henry Collins. She was educated at Colchester County High School and the local and Southend School of Art. After World War II she taught part-time in a private school and adult education centre in Colchester, as well as the School of Art. With her husband she worked on a large number of murals and exhibition designs, including the Brussels Exhibition; Expo '70, in Japan; Ind Coopa Ltd, Philips Business Systems and British Home Stores. Exhibited widely in the provinces and in 1984 and 1995 with her husband had retrospectives at The Minories, Colchester. Was a member of the Colchester Art Society and the Society of Industrial Artists and Designers. Pallot's later work frequently embraced dockland and industrial scenes, emphasising the angular nature of structures.
