ERIC PESKETT was born in Guildford, Surry, and studied at Brighton College of Art and the Royal College of Art. He exibited at RA, LG and had a solo show at Paul Alexander Gallery in 1950.
In 1961 he bacame head of sculpture at Ravensbourne College of Art and a fellow of RBS. Working in a range of material, he became known for his sculpture in archetectural settings. He was comissioned to do an number of public works including, Australia House, wood carvings; Austin Reed, Regent Street, mural; Congress Theatre, Eastborne, brick reliefs; and crusifixes, Church of the Holy Cross, Eccles. There are examples of his work at Leeds Museums and Galleries. One of his former students contributed an insightful essay on Peskett's work in the second volume fo the Henry Moore Institute's 'Sculpture in 20th Century Britian, 2003'.
