Guy Roddon Photo

RODDON was educated at Bryanston school, in Dorset, where a lecture on Cézanne by the art critic RH Wilenksi partly inspired him to become an artist. He went on to Goldsmiths College, London, and to the Byam Shaw School of Art. He was invited to join a group of painters called Le Realite Seconde which included painters such as Hayden and Claude Vernard showing in the Musee de l'art Moderne. They attempted a reconsiliation between the abstract and the representational elements in art. He has been exhibited at Leicester Galleries, Redfern Gallery, Wildenstien Gallery, The London Group, Royal Academy, Contempory Portrait Society, Musee de l'Art Moderne Pairs, Pace Galleries Houston, Texas. Examples of his work can be seen at Lambeth Palace (official portrait of the Archbishop of Canabury and the National Portriat Gallery.
