Dorathy Wade Painting

DOROTHY WADE was born in 1923 at Silsden, Yorkshire. She trained at the College of Art, Leeds, followed by teaching positions in Leeds and Bradford College of Art. Her work has been exhibited widely, including the Beaux Art Gallery, RBA, WIAC, Leicester Gallery and in the provinces. Her solo shows included the Alwin and Woodstock Galleries. She alwalys traveled extensively to research themes for her shows, working in Venice for long periods. India is also an influence on her, having a special love for Goa. Failing eyesight latterly prevented her from painting.
